Designer's note

Dune is part of a range of dry earth, clay, and sediment. The terracotta base recalls iron oxides; the mustard yellow, ochres; and the cobalt blue introduces a much colder mineral note. We were interested in how mineral colors appear in the earth and break up an apparently uniform surface.

The composition is conceived as a cross-section of the terrain, with layers, deposits, and small marks that could have been trapped over time.
